Ilex crenata 'Luxus hedge'

Category: Deciduous — Chinese holly, japanese holly

Ilex crenata 'Luxus® Hedge' is an evergreen shrub with a compact, upright, and dense growth habit, ideal for tightly trimmed hedges. Its small, fresh green leaves make it an excellent substitute for the boxwood. It can be used as a low border or low hedge, or as a tall border. The plant can reach a height of 2 meters. Small, inconspicuous white flowers appear in May to June, followed by black berries. It prefers a sunny to partially shaded location in well-drained, preferably slightly acidic soil. This species is very winter-hardy and tolerates pruning well.
